When is a wave not a wave? When it’s Wave Rock, of course! This is painted from a photo I took during a visit to Wave Rock in Hyden, Western Australia. It’s such a fascinating landform, rising 15 metres above the ground and 100 metres long, and of course, it resembles a wave. It’s a popular tourist destination and people come from everywhere around the globe to see it, taking the mandatory happy snaps of themselves “surfing the wave”. I decided it would be a nice subject for a lesson, so let’s start painting, shall we? Includes a full colour step-by-step downloadable pdf lesson for you to print off; as well as list of materials, easy instructions and extra tips.
