Everlasting wildflowers

Not long to go till I head off on my art trip to the wildflowers just north of Perth.  The wildflowers of Western Australia are very special to me as I spent a lot of time amongst them when I was a child.  During the school holidays my Dad often took me on roadtrips to the Australian outback and of course, during the July school holidays we saw carpets of beautiful white, pink, and yellow flowers spread out before our eyes.  And it wasn’t just the sight of the flowers that stirred me, it was also the smell.  Everlastings, particularly, have a beautiful light earthy smell that is so unique.  And now, whenever I smell an everlasting, it brings back lovely memories of school holidays with my Dad.

The desire to visit the wildflowers once again inspired me to create an art trip so that other people could enjoy the same things that I enjoy.  The art trip to the wildflowers will depart Perth on Monday 25 August and return on Friday 29 August (5 days/4 nights) and during that time we will visit the Coomberdale Wildflower Farm, the Coalseam and Nambung National Parks, and the Mullewa Wildflower Show, along with lots of extended stops along the way for painting, sketching, and photographing the wildflowers and beautiful countryside of the mid-west of WA.  Each night we’ll stay at Dongara and take day trips out each day in a very comfortable coach.

It’s going to be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to get outdoors and do some en plein air art!  If you’d like to join me, please contact me as soon as possible at renatawrightart@yahoo.com.au as bookings will close soon.
